Michelle Drum specializes in Coastal and Historic Properties and lives in a nationally registered schoolhouse/ former church called Trinity School House-Shiloh Baptist Church --a home her husband, Bob, and their greyhound Athena loving maintain. Whenever possible she walks to work and stops to chat with neighbors as she has owned this home for over 30 years and was instrumental in its revitalization into the desirable neighborhood it is now. Even then Michelle understood the value of the walkability index and was an urban pioneer so to say. She was for years chairman of the Newport Historic District Commission, the president of the Hill Association, President of the Newport County Board of Realtors, Newport County Realtor of the Year, and President of the Rhode Chapter of Women’s Council of Realtors. Currently she is on the Executive Board of the Redwood Library and Athenaeum. She has been on NAR podcasts, articles in the CRS magazine and Inman news focusing on historic properties. Since she has a degree from Columbia University in Historic Preservation and urban History her knowledge is both academic and "hands-on".
She is consistently in the top 1/4 of agents in the state. She cherishes the friendships created through real estate transactions as well as mentoring new Realtors as they enter this exciting but complicated business. In her free time, she golfs, hangs out on their Quickstep sailboat, reads voraciously and travels internationally at least once a year with her twin brother Mark Jarzombek.
